I am trying to connect a Raspberry Pi 3B Model 2 to Solo via a breakout board according to the instructions on http://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/raspberry-pi-via-mavlink.html and using the Solo Dev guide.
I tried the USB connection but as it turns out, the RPi3B model 2 USB port is for power, it is not a true OTG port, so I fell back to a serial connection.
Setting Serial2 protocol from zero (the default) to 1 (Mavlink) breaks Solo. I end up with green LEDs and a locked up drone and the only way to make it functional again is to do a complete factory reset followed by a parameter reset, followed by a software update to get it restored to a usable state.
Is SERIAL2 supported by 3DR ?
Is it plumbed out and connectable from the accessoryport?
If so, why does it break? What about Serial4?
I am able to recreated this scenario on 2 separate Solos 100% of the time... Basically any change to Serial2 parameters breaks it.
I had planned on purchasing LIDAR and some additional sensors, but need to ensure they can connect first.
Help is appreciated.
