I'm trying to connect a Raspberry Pi 3 to Solo via the accessory port. The objective is to be able to send commands from the RP3 to the Pixhawk using Dronekit.
Two weeks ago I already connected a RP3 to a standard Pixhawk thanks to the Telem2 port and it was working fine. So I thought it would be the same here.
I connected SER2Tx (pin 11) of the accessory port to UART0_TXD (pin 8) of the RP3 and SER2Rx (pin 26) of the accessory port to UART_RXD (pin 10) of the RP3. Additionally I also connected the ground of the RP3 to pin 29 of the accessory port.
Unfortunately, when I try:
vehicle = connect('/dev/ttyS0', baud=57600, wait_ready=True)
absolutely nothing happens, the connection just times out...
So I have a couple of questions:
- Are the serial ports actually linked to the accessory port?
- Am I using the wrong baudrate?
- Did I miss a step before being able to use the accessory port?
Or maybe did I make a mistake on the wiring? Here is a photo of the connections:
I hope that what I'm intending to do is possible with Solo because this is part of a school project and I had the Univ buy this quad because of the availability of the accessory port.
I hope that my explanations are clear enough. Any help is very welcomed ! Thank you in advance
